Beanscene, the coffee shop and music house group has joined Discover Inverclyde, the new tourism forum set-up to help secure the future success of the area as a tourist destination.
Beanscene, which is in the process of opening a new branch in Kilmacolm, is owned by Scottish business-woman of the year, Fiona Hamilton, who is best known as the co-owner of the Fifi and Ally restaurant and boutique group, as well as being a partner with property firm King Sturge.
“We are very pleased to be associated with Discover Inverclyde” said Fiona. “Inverclyde has so many positive attributes and is a fantastic place to live and visit – I wholeheartedly support Discover Inverclyde’s plans to create a more positive profile and greater economic prosperity for the area.”
She added: “We are very excited about our new branch at Kilmacolm which will open over the easter holidays – it is our first new Beanscene since we bought the chain 18 months ago and we took the decision to expand here, as we recognised Inverclyde as an area of enormous potential. Beanscene in Kilmacolm offers a friendly and relaxing welcome and makes for the ideal stop if you are visiting the growing array of specialist shops that the village has to offer.”
Chris Jewell, a Director of Discover Inverclyde said: “The fact that a successful business like Beanscene has chosen to expand in Inverclyde is extremely encouraging and provides a great boost for the area. We are delighted to welcome Fiona and her team at Beanscene as members of Discover Inverclyde.”
A marketing campaign to encourage local businesses involved in tourism, leisure, retail and the arts to join Discover Inverclyde as members is currently underway while their new website is being finalised and will be available from the start of April.
