DISCOVER INVERCLYDE MEETS X FACTOR HEARTTHROB LLOYD DANIELS

Chris Jewell, one of our Directors was at hand in the Oak Mall on Thursday 11th November to be part of the welcoming party to meet Lloyd Daniels and following his performance on the stage in the Mall as part of getting the Christmas lights switched on there, he spoke with Chris.

This is Lloyd’s first visit to Inverclyde … he had been part of the X Factor tour which was in Glasgow … and had just arrived just in time for his performance on stage, greeted on stage by the ear splitting noise from hundreds of young people and children there to see him. He greatly appreciated the welcome he received and made time for the various people there to meet him privately after his performance. This included the competition winner from the recent Greenock Telegraph’s competition to meet Lloyd.

Asked about what his life had been like after last year’s X Factor where Lloyd was 5th, he simply said ‘Terrifying … just terrifying’. Seeing the hundreds of fans in the Mall it wasn’t hard to see what he meant.

Lloyd told Chris that’s his first single called ‘Crazy’ would be out in February and Lloyd is planning a major tour into schools over the coming months throughout the UK, and he is also planning a major tour in 2011.

Lloyd willingly posed for photographs and signed T shirts and photocards for those present. He is a charming young man with his gentle Welsh accent. Discover Inverclyde was able to give Lloyd the gift of an orbital clock, courtesy of Inverclyde Council, which he warmly thanked us for.

If there is a good reason for Lloyd to be back in Inverclyde he said he would certainly be back. Then it was off to a waiting car, which already had to be moved to escape hoards of fans, and on to his hotel for the night.
